Object Description
Teacup-shaped basket in plain twining with supplementary pattern elements in "half twist overlay." Rim finish consists of warp ends cut off flush with last row of twining. Background in medium reddish brown with design motifs in natural (tan), dark brown, and medium brown. Main motifs are four shapes, which can be viewed as consisting of three parallelograms offset diagonally from top to bottom, each cut by two diagonal lines, and juxtaposed on three horizontal dark lines that encircle the cup. Handle is wrapped with pine root(?). Hazel warp and pine root weft with straw grass and fern stem designs.
