Object Description
Egyptian burial urn without top, polychrome with cartouche. Human remains in bottom. Burial urn, pottery, polychrome with cartouche in black containing scene of offering to a god.
The object is a widemouth, wheel-turned jar of low-fired clay. It is painted after firing with yellow, red, blue, green paints over a white ground. There is a figural sketch (cartouche) in black paint on one side of the vessel. The empty interior is painted with matte white paint. There is no lid. The basal surface is unpainted.

Ceramic, complete vessel, canopic jar, rounded base and body, constricted rim, plain base, white pigment above base, green pigment on body with painted black scene of Egyptian gods and hieroglyphs in one area, scene enclosed in back rectangle, horizontal bands of red and yellow pigment at neck and rim of jar, white pigment on jar interior, no lid, surface loss
