Archival Scope and Content
Contains notes, bills, receipts, and a booklet relating to the recordings made in Southwest Africa. The tapes were used by Gilbert Rouget of the Musee de l'Homme to produce a record of music partially subsidized by the Marshalls. Paul Collaer (Cercle International d'Etudes Ethno-Musicologiques) planned to study the tapes but apparently did not. Folkways Records contracted with Robert Gardner to produce tapes and recordings. This material was removed from accession file 58-43D.
