Archival Scope and Content Contains letters from the spring of 1951 from Laurence Marshall to Fritz Metzger and Walter Battiss in South Africa, seeking advice on finding and documenting "Bushmen." Also contains a letter to J.O. Brew agreeing to go to South West Africa. In addition, there are notes on a planning conference for the 1952-3 expedition by Robert Dyson, a statement of the objectives of the Marshall expedition, and a memo from Laurence Marshall on documentary film as a scholarly means of expression. This material was removed from accession file 58-43F.
