Object Description
Seventeen pieces of border strip wth 34 repeats (5 x 3.5 cm.) of the Oculate Being, a large-eyed smiling feline with trophy head appendages and embroidered in stem stitch in dark blue, dark green, yellow, red, on foundation cloth of brown cotton plainweave (warp, weft: z-2s, 12 epcm.; 16 epcm.). Some repeats single, other joined, all on weft(?) selvage.
