Object Description
Textile portion of simple gauze weave brown cotton (warp, weft: 2s-plied) used as foundation for tapestry. Rows of crosses in purple, red, yellow, brown(?) camelid (2s-plied) spaced across gauze. Along warp selvages is a weft-faced camelid border; perpendicular to this, second similar gauze with weft-faced camelid border, only without tapestry crosses (28 x 47 cm.; warp cut, weft complete); stitched to first cloth so that the two borders are at right angles and frame cloth on two sides. One warp, one weft selvage.
