Descriptions
Object Description Strip of tapa. Off white medium-weight of pounded/beaten inner bark fibers likely paper mulberry; two layers felted and/or adhered. Freehand painted .75-1.0 cm wide linear decoration in reddish brown resinous paint on one side. Three rough/raw edges and one long cut edge. Cut edge indicates that this strip was part of a much larger piece; evidence of reddish dye-colorant on the straight long cut edge. The catalogue number 48376 is written in red paint in two locations
