Object Description
Border composed of two separately woven parts. Across top, slit tapestry strip with interlock hooks in purple/lavender, green, yellow, rust/yellow with sections of red-brown in between. Red-brown wefts deflected, cross a space without warps before dovetailing into magenta strip. Magenta section embroidered loosely with cross-lattice, yellow and brown camelid. Lower portion of border, weft fringe of red and brown camelid, secured in middle by additional strip of slit tapestry with interlocked hook motif as above. At center, one upper edge, large multiple figural tassel (29 cm., length)
