Object Description
Cotton & wool tapestry - 1) Kelim with mythological animal figures; 2) interlocked weft pattern, bird pattern. Sewn together as head band?: Headband made of tapestry band lined with extra weft-patterned band. Outer band has rectangular motif of double cat heads, repeated at intervals. Band has red camelid weft, motifs use white, black, green camelid (all 2s-plied). Inner band has extra weft pattern of diamond design with birds, in red, dark blue, blue, gold, white. Bands joined along side selvage. Two weft selvages. Warp: white cotton, (2z-plied).
