Object Description
Skirt woven from sheep & goat hair - part of woman's outfir, nos. 60/2875-2886 Structure: A plain weave cloth with red wool and goat hair wefts with small bands of diamond twill with red and black wefts; with additional black discontinous supplementary wefts. A narrow band (2.5 - 2.75 cm), approxiamately 17 cm from the outer edges of the width consisting of a compound weave of red wool in a continous supplementary weft design with additional patterning in yellow and green yarns. The central area of the cloth is a compound weave structure, combining plain weave with black cotton weft and continuous supplementary weft patterning, with a red wool weft; additionally, there are discontinuous weft patterning in brightly colored yarns (approx. 3 cm sq - 4 cm sq) throughout; na[see Object Description text entry for extended description]
