Object Description
Long cotton scarf - warp striped in bluw, red and yellow with twill pattern brocaded ends: Woman's headdress. A narrow woven red, dark blue-black, yellow and white rectangular cloth with loom-finished selvedges and fringes; symmetrical design. Structure: The object is primarily a warp-faced plain weave cloth with paired warps and groups of multiple wefts. At the two outer ends are float weave patterning of alternating bands of diamond twill and 2/2 vertical herringbone (groups of 7 wefts). There are two narrow regions of discontinued supplementary weft patterning in white and yellow; this patterning appears approxiamately 40 cm from the fringe edges. Warp: blue-black "z" twist-single yarn; red "s" twist-single yarn; yellow "z" twist-single yarn. Wefts: blue-blac[see Object Description text entry for extended description]
