Object Description
Manta, twill weave black s-spun 2-ply wool with indigo z-spun single-ply wool embroidery. Twill weave black body with embroidered indigo borders at top and bottom in diamond twill style pattern. Inner edge of border made up of two ridges with eight embroidered flowers evenly spread across width of manta. Also narrow indigo border embroidered along side selvages. Red yarn connects manta at left side and along top left shoulder. Black and blue balls of wool as tassels on three corners. Side selvages are wrapped in black wool. Top and bottom selvages have been rolled and wrapped in indigo wool. Length: 102.5 cm; Width: 67.2 cm (folded); Depth: .5 cm; Tassels: 3.5 cm. Thread count: Warp -- 9 ends/cm; Weft -- 5 ends/cm.
