Object Description
Black wool manta with embroidered blue borders. Center is black 2-ply z-spun wool in a twill weave. Borders on each end are made of same black z-spun wool in a plain weave and embroidered with z-spun indigo blue yarn. Side selvages appear to be folded over then blanket stitiched with black yarn. Next to blanket stitch is a running stitch pyramidal pattern in indigo yarn. Top and bottom edges (border edges) are wrapped in indigo yarn. Inside top and bottom selvages, two bands of indigo blue herringbone embroidered stitch alternate with black plain weave. This is followed by a wider band (4cm) of embroidered zig-zag, followed by raised stem stitch, one more line of zig-zag, then at regular intervals, an embroidered indigo floral pattern.
