Object Description
Black wool manta with diamond twill borders. 2-ply s-spun black wool twill with a diamond pattern border woven in 3-ply z-spun indigo blue wool. The center panel appears to have been cut and restitched at side selvages, where there are seams. The indigo diamond pattern border is attached to the center panel with a raised twisted edge. The side selvages have been folded over and blanket stitched, while top and bottom selvages have been folded over, stitiched, and wrapped in black wool, with 3 ridges. Length: 89.5 cm, Width: 154 cm, Depth: .5cm at side selvage. Each corner has a 4 cm tassel. Thread count: center panel - 12 ends/cm warp, 6 ends/cm weft; border panels - 14 ends/cm warp, 8 ends/cm weft.
