Shawl, white with red and blue bands on edgesWhite cotton manta with a blue band at each end and a red stripe between the white and the blue (3 1/2' x 4'). c. 1892 White cotton with red unraveled wool flannel and indigo z-spun single ply wool. Center in white cotton twill weave. Outside borde of indigo diamond twill pattern and separated from center panel by unravelled red twill band with two paris of horizontal white lines. Side selvages have been wrapped in indigo wool. Top and bottom selvages have been rolled and stitched to create double ridge.Length: 107.5 cm; Width: 112.8 cm; Depth: .4 cm; Tassels: approx. 14 cm at each corner. Thread count: Warp -- 12 ends/cm; Weft -- 8 ends/cm. Excellent condition. Some stains on white cotton portion.
