Object Description
Banded blanket. Nine bands of red stripes with dark center blue stripe separated by narrow white stripes, alternating with eight bands of white, the two bands at center of blanket narrower than other white bands. The striped bands consist of three red with blue line stripes separated by two white bands at each end, and alternating three red,/blue bands and two white bands, with two red/blue bands and one white band in field between. Warp: white natural handspun wool; wefts: white natural handspun wool, red 3 ply commercial yarn-cochineal?, blue natural handspun wool indigo dyed. Selvages: 3-ply blue cords added in all four edges. Warp direction 127 x weft direction 88 x depth .3 cm, plus 5-6 cm tassels each corner augmented with extra cords.
