Object Description
Banded blanket by Elmer Sequaptewa. Eleven bands of gray alternating with five broad bands with white stripe outlined in black between two blue stripes, bordered by stripe of black and white beading, and five broad bands with white stripe outlined in black between two light green stripes, bordered by stripes of black and white beading; ends with gray bands at top and bottom. Border: black outer band at top and bottom. Warp: white natural wool; wefts: natural white wool, gray and black natural wool probably dyed or augmented: tag indicates blue is indigo, green is combination of indigo and snake weed and black is walnut. Selvages: 2-ply black and 2-ply white cords added in at sides, 2-ply white cords added in at top and bottom.
