Object Description
Crystal rug. Four gray bands with brown "squash blossom" or "hour glass" figures outlined in white, with border of two stripes of connected gold, white, gray lozenges enclosed in brown lines; these bands separated by five bands of gold with center stripe of alternation brown and white lines; brown bands at top and bottom. Warp: white natural handspun wool; wefts: white natural handspun wool, black natural handspun, augmented, gray - natural handspun black and white wool carded together, brown and gold vegetal dyed wool. Selvages: weft wrapped around outer warp at sides, black 2-ply cords added in at top and bottom.
Warp direction 128 x weft direction 85 x depth .5 cm, plus 8 cm tassels all four corners.
Paper tag, written in pencil: "B/ R20N Crystal, vegetal 33 . 49 1/2"
