Object Description
Banded saddle blanket or rug. Center band of a black stripe with white stripes above and below separates two broad bands of gray each with a center black serrated diamond enclosing three separate white lines ending in fleche shape, the black diamond is outlined in a narrow white line, and two matching half diamonds at each side; four small black serrated half diamonds are in the four gray half diamond fields between the black diamond and half diamonds. Border: a white band and an outer black band at top and bottom. Warp: white wool; wefts: white, gray and black wool, aniline dyed. Selvages: 2-ply brown cords added in at sides, 3-ply brown cords added in at top and bottom. Warp direction: 66 x weft direction 58 x depth .3 cm, plus 8 cm tassels each corner.
