Object Description
Classic revival rug, Third Phase Chief blanket style. Center panel consists of a broad background band of black and very dark gray stripes separated by red lines; imposed on this are a center stepped gray diamond with continuation of the red lines across it, outlined by concentric squares of black, red, and white, and two matching half diamonds at each side. Bands above and below of three white and two black stripes separate center panel from matching panels with center half diamond and side quarter diamonds at top and bottom. Border: band of red at top and bottom. Lazy lines. Warp: white wool; wefts: white, light gray, dark gray, black, red wool, aniline dyed. Selvages: 2-ply red cords added in all four edges.
