Object Description
Klagetoh rug. Central gray field with concentric diamond form; in center of diamonds is a gray cross element of a center square with short lines extending to each side, comb-pattern, and longer double comb form extending at top and bottom; this element is enclosed in serrated dark brown diamond that is enclosed in outer red stepped diamond with comb forms extending from the sides. Three comb elements offset in stepped diagonal are at the four corners of the gray field. Border; a brown band separated from outer black border by a red line, straight across top and bottom, narrow meander at sides. Warp: white wool; wefts: gray, red, black and brown natural and aniline dyed wool. Selvages: 2-ply black cords added in all four edges.
