Object Description
Rug with Ganado colors. Central band with a concentric serrated white diamond with black hourglass figure enclosed, bordered by red, black and gray serrated diamonds, and matching half diamonds at each side. Above and below central band is a horizontal white serrated zigzag band separated from gray serrated zigzag band by a border band of red lozenges; the gray band bordered by zigzag band of black lozenges which forms two half diamonds of white with red center at top and bottom of rug. Border: bands of white, red, white, and outer black band at top and bottom. Coarsely woven. Warp: white wool; wefts: white, red, black and gray aniline dyed wool. Selvages: 3-ply black cords added in all four sides.
Warp direction 123 x weft direction 93 x depth .6 cm, plus 12.5 cm tassels each corner.
