Object Description
Classic revival rug with Moqui pattern. Background field of narrow black and gray-purple stripes, overlaid with a pattern of very large horizontal zigzag bands of red and white interlocked triangles forming a solid band, which is bordered by red triangles creating one serrated edge. These zigzag bands suggest two larger diamonds across center of blanket and outline a bands of one diamond and flanking half diamonds at edges above and below center field, with one zigzag band above and one below these bands. Border: inner border band of red and gray-purple beading and outer red band at top and bottom. Warp: brown and white handspun wool; wefts: white, red, purple-gray, black handspun wool aniline dyed.
