Descriptions
Object Description
Diamond network style rug with cattle brand motif. Faded red-pink field with serrated horizontal zigzag bands of black with white one side and yellow the other, forming a lattice pattern outlining a central band of one diamond flanked by two half diamonds, bands above and below that with two diamonds, and bands top and bottom of half diamond flanked by two quarter diamonds. The diamond in center of rug has a black stepped geometric element that may be a cattle brand. In one band of two diamonds the inner yellow zigzag lines forming lattice meet at center of rug and also interrupt the black inner border at sides of rug; extension of red-pink field forms outer border around all four edges. Lazy lines. Selvages: 2-ply red-pink cords added in all four edges. Warp: white
