Object Description
Two faced diamond twill rug/double saddle blanket. Grid pattern formed by eight horizontal bars of brown, white and black diamond twill and horizontal lines, those at top and bottom twice as high, and four vertical bands plus half bands at each side, of black and white vertical lines connecting to diamond pattern of cross bands, leaving white squares on one face and black squares on the other face; very full pompoms at each corner of white, black and gray yarn, added in and tied. Warp: white plied wool; wefts: white, black and brown commercial plied wool, aniline dyed. Selvages: 4-ply gray yarn twisted into 2-ply cords added in all four edges. Warp direction 125 x weft direction 87 x depth .5 cm, plus 12 cm pompoms each corner. Paper tag, written in ink: "R67"; writt[see Object Description text entry for extended description]
