Object Description
Saddle blanket or rug, alternating bands of red and black diagonal twill and bands of black and white diagonal twill, the diagonals changing direction at color change. Border bands of black woven with weft over two warps. Warp: white plied wool; wefts: white, black and red wool, aniline dyed. Selvages: 4-ply tan cords added in at sides, 2-ply (thick) white cords added in at top and bottom. Warp direction 148.5 x weft direction 80 x depth .5 cm, plus 6-8.5 cm tassels each corner.
Paper tag, written in ink: "R18"; written in pencil: 'Double Saddle 31 1/2 x 58 H1"
