Object Description
Saddle blanket or rug with self-patterned plain weave. (Learning piece?) Black and white vertical beading, off-set to divide into two large bands and a narrower band of striped patterns. The final band has various off-sets to create various non-symmetrical patterns. Plain weave with lazy lines, no borders. Warp: double strands, three at center, of white plied cotton?; wefts: white and black 4-ply commercial yarn, two strands laid together. Selvages: pink 4-ply yarn cords added in all four edges. Warp direction 51.5 x weft direction 32.5 x depth .4 cm, plus 2-3 cm tassels each corner, tassel partially untied on one corner.
