Object Description
Gallup throw or rug. White background with column of stacked gray lozenges up center; border: narrow red band and wider gray outer band. Warp: white plied cotton; wefts: white and gray natural wool, red 3-ply wool aniline dyed. Selvages: weft wrapped around outer warp at sides, thick single ply cords white cords added one end, 4 strands of plied cotton "cords" added in other end; warps tied in short .5 cm fringe at end with wool selvage cords. Nubby yarn.
Warp direction 45 plus .5 cm fringe x weft direction 27 x depth .5 cm, plus 3-5 cm tassels each corner.
