Object Description Gallup throw or rug. White background with a series of stacked truncated diamonds up center, white, red, then brown, the tops of the brown forms meeting on the band of white center of sampler. Border: brown, red, and outer white bands. Warp: white plied cotton; wefts: white, red and brown handspun wool, aniline dyed. Selvages: weft wrapped around outer warps at sides, 1-ply white cords added in one end, 2-ply white cords added in other end; cotton warps tied in 3.5 cm fringe at one end. Warp direction 50.5 cm plus 3.5 fringe one end x weft direction 26.5 x depth .5 cm, plus 5 cm tassels each corner. Paper tag, written in pencil: 'c/ Three samplers'. added in ink: 'T-153 - 10" x 20", T-154 - 10 1/2" x 18", T-155 - 10" x 20"' Note:"Gallup Throw"
