Descriptions
Object Description Tufted saddle throw, brown and white diagonal twill, woven in stripes of alternating direction of the diagonal line, with a band of brown at top and bottom. Warp: white natural handspun wool; wefts brown and white natural handspun wool. Selvages: weft wrapped around outer warp at sides, 2-ply brown cords added in top and bottom. One side is tufted with long strands of mohair, added in along lines where diagonal pattern changes direction, and extending 16 to 20 cm on other side, added in a pattern of a white diamond on a gray-black-white-brown field. Warp direction 73 cm plus 16 cm tufts x weft direction 60 cm plus 18-20 cm tufts x depth 1 cm plus tufts; 10 cm tassels, braided and tied, at each corner.
