Descriptions
Object Description Germantown Gallop throw or rug. Purple field with central column of stacked connected red triangles with a center element of turquoise stacked triangles and four other turquoise triangles; white hourglass element in each corner. Border band of magenta at top and bottom, with looped fringe, of one white and one purple yarn, tied on at each end. Warp: white commercially processed Germantown yarn; wefts: white, purple, red, turquoise and magenta Germantown commercially processed and aniline dyed wool. Selvages: weft wrapped around outer warp at sides; 4-ply white commercial yarn added one end and 4-ply green commercial yarn added at other end, and looped fringe of purple and white yarn added at top and bottom.
