Object Description Brocaded ceremonial sash. Woven white sash with colored ends and fringe - used in Rain Dance. Plain weave commercial s-spun 4-ply white cotton, brocaded with red, black, turquoise and purple s-spun 3-ply wool. Two panels with brocade at one end. Non-brocaded ends are sewn together with red wool and red tassels at either end of seam. Brocaded ends have the following horizontal band pattern: wide black band with two rows of undulating white triangles; turquoise band; black band with four pair of narrow vertical white lines; purple band; narrow black band; wide turquiose band with two red and white diamonds separated from edges and each other by three pair narrow vertical white lines with hooked ends; narrow black band; purple band; black band with three pair narrow [see Object Description text entry for extended description]
