Object Description
Brocaded white cotton ceremonial sash, embroidered with rain cloud motifs. The body of the sash is z-spun white cotton plain weave with brocaded bands at either end in black, green and blue aniline-dyed 3-ply z-spun wool yarns. The bands contain the following elements: black band with white sawtooth undulating pattern; undecorated green band; black band with four pair of two white units on one end and 3.5 pairs of white units at the other end. Above these brocaded bands are terraced enbroidered rain clouds in 3 rows. The bottom row consists of three rain clouds in red, blue and orange 3-ply z-spun aniline-dyed wool . The second row is orange and red and the third row is white with a black band at the top. Two red lightening units extend out from the base of the top cloud.
