Object Description
Chimayo thunderbird design runner. Aniline-dyed, commercially processed multi-plied s-spun maroon, black, white, yellow, blue and dark brown (warp) wool. Maroon background with multi-colored broad horizontal band at each end in blue, white, black and yellow. Main design consists of three stylized Thunderbirds in profile in white with terraced stacked triangle center in black and blue. Dark brown commercially processed warp tied at both ends to prodcue fringe. Length: 147 cm, Width: 48.2 cm, Depth: .4 cm. Fringe of 4.5 cm at ends. Thread count: Warp -- 4 ends/cm, Weft: 9 ends, cm. Excellent condition.
