Object Description Banded saddle blanket or rug, diagonal twill. Series of stripes of orange, red orange and blue-black alternating with wider bands of gray. Center band a stripe of alternating short diagonal lines of blue-black and orange with bands of red-orange above and below, and gray bands; then two bands of red-orange, orange, and two blue-black center lines separated by gray bands; at top and bottom two bands of orange, red-orange, and a single blue-black line separated by a narrow gray stripe. Warp: white natural handspun wool; wefts: white natural handspun wool; blue natural handspun wool, indigo dyed; gray natural handspun black and white wool carded together; red, orange natural handspun wool aniline dyed. Selvages: 2-ply gray cords added in at sides, 3-ply orange cords added in[see Object Description text entry for extended description]
