Object Description
Bag - lower portion tapestry; cream cotton warps grouped in 5; rose-red, blue & yellow wool weft; zig-zag design; weaving in upper portion changing to cream cotton; top coarse cotton netting edged in wool: Bag; lower body single interlocking tapestry w/concentric zigzag lines, yellow-red-green-yellow on red. Warps: white cotton (z-2s) with 3-8 groups of 4 warps/cm. Above this, section of plainweave warps single, wefts paired (both z-2s). Folded lengthwise, seamed up sides; seams embroidered w/zigzag lines in red, yellow camelid. Neck looped w/multiple strand cotton; separately woven edge of warp-faced plainweave w/bars of brown, white camelid (s-2z). Red tassels at lower corners.
