Object Description
Hat, straw (pigmy) (one of 3). Hat has a diameter of approx. 16.5-17 cm and height of 9.5. The small hat has a circular base with a quadrangular top, plaited 2/2 twill in natural (undyed) and dark brown/black straw-like or other fine plant fiber strips. Two vertical stripes on opposite sides of the hat are plaited in 4/2 twill. Hat has a narrow upturned brim (4.5 cm H), turned again with edge completed in a zigzag edge (not visible to viewer nor when hat is worn). Hat has a gathered-in finished top center, with fiber ends pulled to the interior and held firmly and tightly together with a twisted fiber cord. A small grouping of purple irridescent/brown feathers are attached to one side of the hat with quill ends passing through two 2 cm diameter discs of dark red-brown[see Object Description text entry for extended description]
