Object Description
Hat for jinrikisha man. Flat circular hat made out of layered pieces of monocot leaves. The top has a thin plant stem spiral attached to the surface with laid stitches of a plant fiber twisted thread, which are visible from the underside. In the center of the top there two X motifs made out of two pieces of but plant material, one set is painted black and the other is natural colored. The underside of the hat exhibits the split stem framework supports of the hat. They extend from the center like spokes. In the center are two rectangular, parallel stuffed woven pillow/pads, with a Z twist plant fiber cord with a thinner S twist plant cord attached to thicker tie.
