Object Description
Inscribed photograph album of fifty (50) views assembled by J.W. Davis . Twenty-eight (28) views by Davis representing dwellings, dress, burial sites, pueblos, etc. Cultures represented include the Dakota, Omaha, Ponca, Mission, and Isleta (Tiwa). Remaining prints are commercial views of Yosemite and Yellowstone by J.H. White of Boston. Subjects also include Canon de Chelley and pictures of Native Americans, some of which are identified as Standing Bear (Ponca) "old Ponca chief", Iron Eye (Omaha), Rain in the Face (Dakota) "credited as the one who killed Custer", and Pablo (Pala) "the leading man of Pala".
