Object Description
Canoe and paddle. (THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WAS OBTAINED DURING THE WATERCRAFT RESTORAGE PROJECT, 9/2000):
Birch bark canoe lashed with split root and caulked with pitch. Gunwales are secured with split root lashing and metal nails. There are six thwarts whose tennons fit into gunwale mortises. The thwarts are also secured by split root lashing.
The catalog # (97938) is written in red at one end.
