Paddle belonging to dugout canoe 21-11-10/87652
(THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WAS OBTAINED DURING THE WATERCRAFT RESTORAGE PROJECT, 9/2000):
Dugout carved from a single tree (species unknown). Bow and stern are decorativiely carved and both are peaked at center. The bow has a short, handle protrusion carved at its peak. The bow also has two holes borred at it's corners and a large knob-like protrusion located 39" aft of tip of prow, both of which were probably used together for mooring . There is an integral seat carved at the stern. Foot supports are carved fore of the stern.
The entire perimeter has lipped gunwales that are carved out of the structure of the vessel.
