Object Description Gourd pocket with narrow openings on side and at top, used as a tobacco pouch. It's shape symbolizes medication in Chinese mythology and by the end of the Ch'ing period, used for recreational and medicinal purposes. Embroidered in satin stitching in background with the decoration motifs of the ju-i scepter, lotus and flower, and "bok op (?)" motifs done in stem stitching. 15 cm. (l) x 11 cm. (w) x 4 cm. (h).
