Object Description Young woman mask; reddish tone, carved hair, swollen eyelids, narrow nose, mouth with visible teeth, tears, and symbol on forehead. The mask is too small to be worn. The attached coiffure is composed of long twists and a fleecy crown mounted on burlap. Wooden face mask with plant fiber netting cap. The mask is made of a single block of hard dense wood carved into an angular shaped face. The elaborately carved crown in connected to a plant fiber netted cap that is adorned with a headcover that consist of braided and strands of 'z' twisted bundles of plant fibers that hang on the side. The braided headdress appears to have a reddish tone deliberately applied. (SAM)
