Object Description
Coiled bowl-shaped basket with insloping sides. Widow's basket. Sides are sweet grass sewn with pink, black, orange, purple, red, and turquoise cotton thread; base is palmetto fiber. Flat lid is coiled of sweet grass, with red, blue and purple sewing thread. Lid handle represents head of Seminole woman, with embroidered features on palmetto fiber base, black cotton hair, and glass seed beads around neck.
Dimensions: max. height including lid = 12 cm, height of basket = 6 cm, max. diameter = 20.9 cm, rim diameter = 16.5 cm.
