Object Description Textile of woven raffia cloth; man's ceremonial skirt. In the main body, parallel narrow vertical panels in alternating red and black, each decorated with eyelet and delicate linear embroidery in spaced-out angular designs, plus one wider band in alternating black and beige rectangles (this part would pass over the man's belt). Borders composed of the valued small square patchwork in beige color; one border is properly reversed, to appear correctly over the belt. Edges are complex, marked at point of joining by addition of a row of black plush, with added tabs decorated with appliqued pieces of black and beige checkered plush and pompoms. Excellent condition.
