Object Description
Rio Grande blanket, banded layout. Red-orange, brown-black, cream, orange, light green and light purple z-spun wool weft and cream z-spun s-twist 2-ply wool warp. Four bands of red with narrow strips of orange, brown-black, light green, and light purple alternating with three wider stripes of cream bordered by dark brown stripes. Remnants of fringe at top and bottom. Side selvages: weft wrapped around outer double warps, now mostly repair work. Top and bottom selvages: warp ends tied to create fringe, only remnants left. Length: 239 cm; WIdth: 139 cm. Thread count: Warp -- 2 ends/cm; Weft -- 12 ends/cm. Coarse yarn and weaving
