Object Description
Rio Grande blanket, banded layout. Red, natural gray-brown, light blue, cream, brown, and rust z-spun wool weft and cream z-spun s-twist 2-ply wool warp. Six bands of red with stripes of brown, rust, gray-brown alternating with seven bands of cream with light blue stripes, red and gray bands top and bottom. Fringe top and bottom. Side selvages, weft woven over double warp, then two single warps, and wrapped around third single warp. Top and bottom selvages, warps are tied to create a fringe. Length: 213 cm; Width: 137 cm; Fringe: 1.5 cm. Thread count: Warp -- 3 ends/cm; Weft -- 10-12 ends/cm.
