Object Description
Rio Grande serape, tapestry weave, in dark brown, orange, and cream z-spun wool weft and cream z-spun s-twist, 2-ply wool warp. Dark brown background with central band of serrated cream diamonds outlined in orange and broken-outline diamonds, and bands of serrated cream diamonds outlined in orange top and bottom. Woven in two panels and sewn together up center. Side selvages, weft is wrapped around outer warps. Top and bottom warp ends left for 3 cm fringe. Length: 193 cm; Width: 129.5 cm. Thread count: Warp -- 2 ends/cm; Weft -- 16 ends/cm.
