Descriptions
Object Description
Satchel, also described as woven wallet or a storage bag. The overall form and an absence of carrying straps suggests it intended to contain sacred items. The specific woven design is related to prayer issues. In particular, the “lightning family” border pattern at one edge indicates that this object held a sacred or ritual item or kit. The center includes a “checkerboard” design. This particular satchel shows signs of water damage.
