Object Description Label, paper strip, nine black on white Chinese characters. Long rectangular wooden box (a), covered with silk and paper, containing silk flowers and other ornaments (#15150-15162). Interior lined with pink fabric (silk?). Lid (b) has a black and red long label with four Chinese characters ("Happiness, Long life through Prolonged years"). Box contains two yellow paper tags. Small one has nine Chinese characters in black ink which read: <transliteration> ("Present to the Wife of the United States Minister"). Larger one has yellow fabric on one side with red painted ornamentation and reads: <transliteration> ("On the 29th of the First Month of the 29th year of Kuanghsu, Her Imperial Majesty, the Empress Dowager, presents to the Wife of the United States Minister, Mr. Co[see Object Description text entry for extended description]
